Heather C: End of the Road?

I had every intention of posting to the blog throughout the conference, but was somehow always occupied with things like running to the printer or defying the time-space continuum to get a speaker to the conference on-schedule. So, here we are, two days after the conclusion of the conference, and I'm finally getting to blog.

The conference was good. It was good to see old faces, it was good to see new faces, and it was good to feed off the energy of 900+ people who want to spend a weekend learning about new and exciting ways to make the world a better place. It was good to think about the things we did right as a planning committee, and (hard as it is) it was good to think about all the things that we didn't do right...and get the chance to do right next year.

I'm back to my day job now at PledgeBank (which you should check out if you haven't already), and it's a little lonely to sit in my living room without the din of 900 people echoing in my ears. The good news is that we're already starting to think and talk as a planning committee about what next year will bring, and how we can improve the weekend to include more people, teach about more issues, appeal to more learning styles, and gather together more campuses.

We'll be sending out an online evaluation in the next few days so that you can share your thoughts with us. In the meantime, please feel free to send thoughts our way by emailing chairs@campusconference.org. If you have compliments, complaints, suggestions, or shout-outs, email us -- we're eager to hear your impressions of this year and your ideas for next year!

The good news is that, though we've reached the end of the road for 2008, 2009 is just around the corner!

Thanks to everyone for a great conference!
